- C Type Power Press
C Type Power Press, also known as a C Frame Power Press or Gap Frame Power Press, is a versatile mechanical press designed for high-speed and precision sheet metal forming, punching, blanking, bending, piercing, embossing, and stamping applications.
Our Mechanical C Type Power Press Machine fabricated from robust cast iron and high-grade steel for strength and durability with a mechanical clutch system, reliable mechanical drive system, precision-guided ram, and robust components to deliver consistent performance in demanding industrial production environments. The open-front design provides excellent accessibility for die installation, material feeding, inspection, and maintenance.
With capacities ranging from 3 to 250 tons, our mechanical C-Frame Press is suited to general sheet metal stamping, punching and forming operations in automotive, electrical, electronics, hardware, appliances, engineering, agricultural equipment, furniture, fasteners, and sheet metal fabrication industries where cost-efficient, high-speed mechanical operation is preferred over pneumatic control.
Why Choose a C Type Power Press?
The C-frame configuration provides an open working area, making it particularly suitable for applications where easy die access, quick setup, convenient material handling, and high production efficiency are important.
Depending on the application, a C Type Power Press can be integrated with pneumatic feeders, mechanical feeders, decoilers, straighteners, sensors, automatic lubrication systems, and other automation equipment to create an efficient stamping production line.
C Type Power Press Machine for Industrial Production
When selecting a C Type Power Press, important factors include press capacity, stroke length, strokes per minute (SPM), shut height, bed size, throat depth, motor power, die dimensions, material thickness, and required production rate.
Selecting the correct press capacity and machine configuration helps achieve reliable production while reducing die wear, machine downtime, and maintenance costs.
If your application needs finer control over stroke and pressure, see our C-Type Pneumatic Power Press instead.

C Type Power Press ( Mechanical & Pneumatic Key)
C-Type Power Press is derived from its its C-shaped frame Structure, which provides easy access to the die area from three sides. Basant Heavy duty C Frame power Presses are available with pneumatic as well as mechanical Clutch and Die Cushion. Basant Offers wide range of Presses, 20 Ton C type Power Press, 50 Ton C frame Press, 100 Ton C frame Power Press, 150 Ton C Type Press Machine, 200 ton C Frame Power presses.
Design & Structure of C type Power Press
- C-Shaped Frame– Open-front design allows for easy loading/unloading of work pieces.
- Ram/Slide– Moves vertically to apply force.
- Bed/Table– Supports the lower die.
- Backbone (Frame)– Provides rigidity and absorbs pressing forces.
- Drive Mechanism– Can be mechanical (crank, eccentric) or hydraulic (piston-cylinder).
Types of C-Frame Presses
A. Mechanical C-Type Press
- Uses a flywheel, clutch & crankshaft to convert rotational motion into linear force.
- High-speed operation (up to 1,000 strokes per minute).
- Best for high-volume punching and blanking.
B. Hydraulic C-Type Press
- Uses hydraulic cylinders for force generation.
- Provides consistent pressurethroughout the stroke.
- Better for deep drawing, forming, and applications requiring variable force.
C. Pneumatic C-type Press
- Operates using compressed air.
- Lower force compared to hydraulic/mechanical.
- Used for light-duty pressing and assembly tasks.
D. Servo-Driven C-Type Press
- Uses a servo motor for precise control.
- Programmable stroke and speed.
- Energy-efficient and quieter than mechanical presses.
It is widely used in metalworking for Stamping, Punching, Bending, Forming, Assembly & Blanking operations.
- Sheet Metal Stamping(e.g., automotive parts).
- Punching Holesin metal sheets.
- Bending & Forming(e.g., brackets, enclosures).
- Riveting & Assembly(e.g., electronics, appliances).
- Fine Blanking(precision cutting).
C type Power Press Capacity Ranges from 20 tons to 300 Tons.
